It serves as a global forum for tourism policy issues and a practical source of tourism know-how. Its membership includes 158 countries, 6 territories, 2 permanent observers and over 500 Affiliate Members.
In the first place France – in 2017 it was visited by 86.7 million people. The top three also included Spain (81.8 million) and the United States (75.9 million). Spain, which came in second place, had revenue of $ 68 billion / € 58 billion.
